Maitake (Grifola frondosa) is an edible, very tasty mushroom, one of the endangered species in some European countries. In the form of a bush, it most often grows on roots and oak stumps. In Japan, it is often used in cooking and, but it is also very popular in alternative, traditional Chinese medicine. It contains many active substances, including polysaccharides.
Maitake contains active proteoglycans with a complex structure: polysaccharides with a main chain beta-1,6 and branches Beta-1,3 and polysaccharides with a main chain beta-1,3 and branches Beta-1,6 (provides 30% active proteoglycans : 1, 3/1,6-Beta-glucan). Due to this special structure (exclusive to the Maitake mushroom), it has a superior immune balancing capacity compared to any other medicinal mushrooms. Each capsule contains 300 mg of Maitake extract with 10% polysaccharides.The capsules contain Maitake mushroom extract. The soluble parts of the mushroom powder are removed or evaporated, so a complete concentrate remains that contains important secondary substances - polysaccharides in the best possible availability.
